Cookies
This page lists what the browser is actually asked to remember. It does not describe tools the site does not run.
-
What people mean by a cookie
A cookie is a small record a site asks the browser to keep and send back later. Storage that never leaves the browser is related, but it is not sent to the server on each visit.
-
What this site uses
Vellum Charts does not set an HTTP tracking cookie, an analytics cookie or an advertising cookie. Two keys may be written in localStorage: eduNoticeAck after the course notice is closed, and cookieConsent after the banner is accepted or declined.
-
How the choice is made
The banner offers Accept and Decline. Either choice is stored under cookieConsent. Closing the course notice stores eduNoticeAck. Neither key is a profile.
-
Browser controls
You can block or clear site data in the browser’s settings. The steps differ by browser. Clearing data for this domain removes both keys.
-
If the keys are refused
The course pages still load. The notice and the banner may appear again on a later visit, because the browser no longer remembers that they were dismissed.
-
How long they last
The keys stay until you clear them. They are not given an expiry by the site. Questions can go to info@vellumcharts.com.
